Press Release

National Corvette Museum and Online Resources/Znyth Technologies Partner to Digitally Preserve Corvette History

Bowling Green, KY – The National Corvette Museum is taking a bold step into the future of preservation and education by partnering with Znyth Technologies, a division of Online Resources, Inc., to create highly detailed 3D digital models of three Corvette legends: the 1963 Z06 Racer, the XP-819 “Ugly Duckling” prototype, and the Rochester Ramjet fuel-injection system that premiered in 1957 on Corvettes and other GM models. These virtual models will become invaluable assets in preserving the story of America’s Sports Car while allowing researchers, enthusiasts, and educators to explore these pieces of history in unprecedented detail.

The 3D scanning technology provided by Znyth will capture every curve, contour, and detail of these vehicles and systems, ensuring their legacy endures for generations to come. The virtual models will allow close study from multiple angles while safeguarding the physical integrity of the artifacts. Additionally, Znyth’s innovative system is designed to preserve these models for hundreds of years, enabling future caretakers of the National Corvette Museum’s collection to access these records as they exist today.

“This partnership allows us to preserve the past while embracing the future,” said Robert Maxhimer, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Education at the National Corvette Museum. “Znyth Technologies’ advanced 3D scanning system ensures that the legacy of the Corvette—America’s Sports Car—is preserved in a way that supports our mission of education and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate Corvette history in a way that connects past, present, and future.”

The 1963 Z06 Racer represents a pivotal moment in Corvette’s competitive legacy, the XP-819 prototype showcases the bold engineering experimentation that defines Corvette’s history, and the Rochester Fuel Injection system stands as a testament to the car’s continued technological and performance innovation. By digitizing these artifacts, the Museum ensures that their significance is not only preserved but also accessible to Corvette enthusiasts and researchers worldwide.

Znyth Technologies shares the Museum’s passion for honoring Corvette’s place in history. “It is a privilege to partner with the National Corvette Museum, stated JD Schaumberg, President of Online Resources, Inc. “Our technology allows us to capture the essence of these Corvette icons and preserve them as digital treasures, paying tribute to the legacy of America’s Sports Car and the role it plays in automotive history and culture.”

The Museum intends to expand this collaboration by scanning additional vehicles and artifacts in its collection, further solidifying its commitment to preserving the Corvette legacy. These digital models will also enhance educational programming, allowing more people to engage with the story of the Corvette’s evolution and impact.
